This sculpture, crafted from steel, latex skin, and nylon, evokes the experience of walking home at night as a member of a marginalised - vulnerable group. Inspired by the streetlamp, a symbol of both guidance and exposure, it reflects the tension between illumination and vulnerability. The fragile glow against the raw, skeletal form underscores the unease of navigating public spaces, where visibility does not always equate to safety. The scattered soil beneath suggests displacement, grounding the piece in lived experience. By merging industrial and organic materials, the work transforms an everyday object into a powerful meditation on fear, presence, and resilience.
